As part of our mission we seek to further social justice, peace, and benevolent care in the community and the world by witnessing to the good news of Jesus Christ in both word and deed. Locally, the support and emphasis are focused on Cross in the City (ministry to at-risk teens and gang members), Pasadena Community Ministries (food and limited financial help to those in need), Pasadena Habitat for Humanity (affordable housing), and Interfaith Manor (low cost apartments for seniors). International efforts are focused on the Presbyterian Seafarers’ Ministry at the Port of Houston and support of missionaries in Jamaica and south Asia.
 
In addition to financial and prayer support, opportunities are given to church members to participate in mission, such as having a work day at Cross in the City, helping build houses for Habitat, bringing canned goods for P.C.M., having a hamburger cookout for sailors at the Seafarers’ Center, and participating in the CROP walk for hunger with other area churches. Each month one mission is highlighted to educate and involve the congregation.
 
The Mission Committee oversees the mission outreach activities of the church and carefully analyzes opportunities for ministry to maximize the impact of the support FPC can give. In addition, committee members serve on the boards of Pasadena Habitat for Humanity, Pasadena Caring Ministries, Interfaith Manor, and Presbytery of New Covenant International Seafarers’ Ministry.
