Bethlehem Market is an alternative gift market during the Christmas season where one can select mission “gifts” in honor of someone that range from providing services to families in crisis to buying a flock of geese for a struggling farmer to providing support for a missionary and more.  The following non-profit groups are among the choices.  

The Bridge, which First Presbyterian Church helped start, provides crisis intervention and shelter for abused women and their children living in southeast Harris County area.   

Church World Service or CWS is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry of 35 denominations in the United States. 

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian organization building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need.  Specific support is for Habitat for Humanity in Pasadena, Texas. 

Heifer International is a charity organization working to end hunger and poverty around the world by providing livestock and training to struggling communities. 

Kairos of Texas is a prison ministry which addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated individuals, their families, and those who work with them.  

Medical Benevolence Foundation provides medical relief in impoverished communities.

 

Pasadena Community Ministries provides food, clothing, and limited financial help to people in need.  

Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services provide Christ-centered care and support to children and families in need.  

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance enables congregations and mission partners of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to witness to the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crises and catastrophic events. 

Presbyterian Mission Agency is the ministry and mission agency of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Support for a variety of missions can be given through the Presbyterian Giving Catalog.

Presbyterian Seafarers Ministry supports two Presbyterian chaplains ministering to seafarers in the Port of Houston.

YWAM Tyler is dedicated to the call of taking the Gospel to the nations.  Specific support is for Janet Sue Whetzel, a teacher in the Teachers For The Nations program.
