Each Wednesday members present a devotional and sing hymns with residents. We have written notes and cards of encouragement to residents and staff.

Presbyterian International Seafarer Ministry

The Presbyterian International Seafarer Ministry is part of a multi-denominational outreach to seafarers on the ships calling in the port. Houston has two centers—the Howard T. Tellepsen Seafarers Center at the main port and the Lou Lawler Seafarer Center at Barbours Cut, in LaPorte. Chaplains visit ships, provide transportation, listen, assist in crises and take the message of God's love to all.

We financially help support the two Presbyterian chaplains, Rev. David Wells and Rev. Tom Edwards. We also pack Christmas gift boxes, which chaplains distribute to seafarers at Christmas. In past years we have joined others to sing Christmas carols to seafarers on their ships.
